Matte Painting Practice - pass #1

Works in progress. Messed around with combining pictures today. It's kind of tough finding images that will work. I want to paint things in eventually, but this is what it looks like right now. It was funny how I would zoom in and wonder why it looked so pixelated. Then I realized it was in the original file size (500 x 300) doh....

I think you need more oomph. The after seems timid, compared to the before.

Hey Amy,

I think if you're looking for a good introduction to MEL scripting, you should check out this: http://www.digitaltutors.com/store/product.php?productid=3163
I wrote my first two scripts right after watching this. In fact I started writing the scripts during the tutorials. I'm sure you can find them on some torrents if it's pricey. I know I didn't pay :)

Also, if you're looking for a more indepth study of MEL, check this book out. http://books.google.com/books?id=tEkz7jCcZF4C
it's intense, and goes into great depth, but really helps you understand Maya, and the way it's setup. Ignore what Roberts says, Maya is actually a REALLY good program. It does EXACTLY what you ask it to do, and usually when it doesn't work, it's because of user error :)
